Security concerns for a number of big events have been raised ever since the tragic shooting in Jacksonville last month, and now TwitchCon's official has revealed the safety measures they're taking for this year's event, happening between October 26 and 28 in San Jose.
In terms of entry, all attendees will have their bag searched, as well as extra security screening being in place. Speaking of bags, you're only allowed one bag with a maximum size of 12" x 15" x 6", with fans encouraged to leave bulky clothing, large bags, and luggage at home.
Twitch also adds that no weapons are allowed, and there's a Weapons Policy at the link above for attendees to look at. "Failure to follow this policy may result in your removal from the convention without refund," the post reads.
As for badges, all attendees must wear them at all times, and should carry a valid form of ID too, with the selling and trading of badges prohibited. Twitch also adds that the cost of lost or stolent badge replacements is $150 USD, so it's good to be careful with them.
Lastly, Twitch adds that staff and security have final say on all safety matters at the event. Are you pleased to see these measures being put in place?
