Ubisoft has made the decision to move the upcoming Rainbow Six: Siege Major out of the Middle-East after receiving a bunch of fan backlash. In a new statement, Ubisoft has mentioned that the Major was set to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to celebrate the growing competitive community of the MENA region, but also added that the voice of the global Siege community questions the choice.

Because of this, the Major will now be taking place elsewhere, although the new location has yet to be revealed. As for what exactly Ubisoft said, the statement read as follows.

"We also hear loud and clear that members of the international Siege community question this choice, and we have taken the decision to move the Six Major of August 2022 to another Rainbow Six Esports region, with the exact location yet to be determined."

Ubisoft has affirmed that the change of location will not change its plans to continue to support and grow its Siege community in the Middle-East, and adds that it "will keep on developing and structuring our competitive activities in MENA, through local and regional tournaments and activations."
