A bunch of leading esports teams and organisations has formed a new committee that is designed to help grow the British esports scene. Known as the UKETC (the UK Esports Team Committee), the organisation is being backed by the British Esports Association to help UK esports become more globally recognised.

Founding members for the committee includes esports organisations such as Excel Esports and Fnatic, as well as franchised teams such as the London Royal Ravens and the London Spitfire. Other teams that make up the committee includes Endpoint, MNM Gaming, and Vexed Gaming, but more teams are able to apply to join in the future.

In the announcement press release, it is stated that the UKETC will "act as a collective voice of UK teams in wider industry discussions, representing their views and interests to the wider UK esports and video games industries and to Government, and to encourage professionalism within UK esports."

Do you think this will help grow the UK esports scene?
