Gisteren werden eindelijk alle genomineerden voor de The Game Awards van december bekendgemaakt. Geselecteerde media, waaronder wij bij Gamereactor, hebben de afgelopen maand favorieten gekozen, en er zijn verschillende interessante observaties te maken.
Misschien wel het meest opwindende is dat Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 genomineerd is in tien categorieën - maar eigenlijk twaalf nominaties heeft (drie in de categorie Beste Acteer, waar Ben Starr, Charlie Cox en Jennifer English allemaal kandidaten zijn). Dat is het meeste ooit, en verslaat God of War: Ragnarök en The Last of Us: Part 2, dat "slechts" elf nominaties had.
Ook opmerkelijk is dat Death Stranding 2: On The Beach en Ghost of Yotei beide zeven nominaties hebben, gevolgd door Hades II met zes, Hollow Knight: Silksong met vijf en Split Fiction met vier. We merken ook op dat we een klassieke Nintendo vs. Sega-confrontatie krijgen, aangezien zowel Mario Kart World als Sonic Racing: Crossworlds genomineerd zijn in de categorieën Beste Familie en Beste Sport/Racen. We zullen binnenkort ontdekken wie de koning van het kartracen is (hoewel het natuurlijk in een gelijkspel kan eindigen of met geen van beiden die een prijs wint).
